6-Month Milestone Session in Lanexa | Pamunkey River

I had the absolute joy of photographing a sweet 6-month milestone session in Lanexa, Virginia, right near the calm, winding waters of the Pamunkey River. This riverside setting is one of my favorite places to shoot—peaceful, scenic, and the perfect natural backdrop for families wanting a relaxed, meaningful experience.

This little guy was full of personality—sitting up in his classic OshKosh jean overalls, beaming with big smiles, and soaking in all the love from mom and dad. His parents wore light, neutral tones that paired beautifully with the creamy driveway and surrounding greenery. The entire scene felt calm, simple, and full of warmth. Six months is such a special age to photograph—babies are curious, expressive, and just beginning to show their little personalities, all while staying content in one spot.

It was especially wonderful to see this family again—I had the pleasure of photographing them back in October for their maternity session. Capturing their journey from pregnancy to this joyful milestone has been such a rewarding experience.

One of the most memorable parts of this session was the care and creativity his mom brought to every detail. She baked his beautiful 6-month cake by hand and decorated a basket with photos from each month of his life so far—a sweet and sentimental touch that made the session even more personal. Watching this family celebrate their baby boy, and seeing how much joy he brings to their lives, was an absolute honor to document.
